Changwon ‘LG Smart Park’ is a smart factory that combines cutting-edge digital technologies such as AI (artificial intelligence), Big data, Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G communication with the manufacturing know-how of LG Electronics, the global home appliance market leader for over 60 years. Recognized for its outstanding production competitiveness, it was the first in the domestic home appliance industry to be selected as a lighthouse factory hosted by the World Economic Forum(WEF) in March 2022. The ‘Lighthouse Factory’ refers to a factory that leads the future of the world’s manufacturing industry by actively incorporating cutting-edge technology, just as a lighthouse lights up the night sky to guide the way. The WEF specifically selected five fields as excellent technology examples, including three-dimensional logistics automation, digital twin, predictive maintenance, AI platform-based inspection, and Intelligent Automation at the ‘LG Smart Park’ factory.
